At the DMPS Foundation, we know that teachers go above and beyond to create meaningful learning experiences for their students. Yet, with limited public school budgets, many of their innovative ideas and essential needs go unfunded.

We’re here to change that. The Foundation exists to provide direct financial support for teacher requests — whether it’s for decodable books to enhance literacy, gardening supplies to foster hands-on learning, or outdoor murals that inspire creativity and pride in their schools.

Every request we fulfill is an investment in our educators, their classrooms, and the future of our students. But we can’t do it alone. Your support helps ensure that no teacher’s vision is limited by a lack of resources.

DMPS Foundation Dinner 2025

The 2nd Annual DMPS Foundation Dinner will be an evening of community and celebration featuring our talented students, a state of the schools update from DMPS superintendent, Dr. Ian Roberts, and, most importantly, the opportunity to raise much needed financial support for the students of Des Moines Public Schools.

The need for private support for our public schools has never been greater. Des Moines is proud to have a rich 100-year legacy of providing high quality, community-based education to the students in our capital city. Join us in uplifting and continuing our tradition of educational opportunity and excellence for all children in Des Moines.

OneRun 2025

The 6th annual District-wide OneRun fundraiser will be held at Water Works Park in September, 2025.  The event is a 2-mile fun run/walk with an option to cheer on the sidelines as a supporter! Registration is free for everyone; participation is what will send funds to each school.

Event fees will be paid by corporate and individual sponsors. Once participation totals are tallied, the money raised will be sent directly to the schools. Each participant may designate one school. The more participants and donations, the more money to the schools!
